Finally!
If you've been around the underground internet 'world' of cars within the United States, it seems that the fastest cars are ALWAYS in the northeast!
Whether it be
ATCO Raceway,
Maryland International Raceway, or whatever other track out there, they seem to consistently turn out some fast cars!
I won't get into the debate over whether this is due to the tracks themselves, better
Density Altitudes in the area, or a higher concentration of tuners and auto enthusiasts in the northeast, but I will say that it seems consistent throughout the world of drag racing.
Well, I am proud to say, even though I personally have ABSOLULTELY NOTHING do to with it, that we have a record set at
Sacramento Raceway here in California! A guy who goes by the forum name 'thesubfloor' over on the Vette Forums has just become the first N/A C6 (in other words, non-Z06, non-Zr1 C6 Corvette) to click off a 9 second pass. Now, granted, it IS an LS7 motor, but that's another debate in itself... :)
Enough rambling; here's the info on the car and the videos:
- LS7 Motor
- LS2 1-3/4" American Racing headers
- Front skinnies (GTO spares) with M&H tires
- Stock air intake and filter
- Stock, unmodified A6 transmission
- Stock intake manifold
- Ported and milled heads (0.030") from West Coast Cylinder Heads
- Lucifer cam from Carlos at Vette-Air
- Stock LS7 injectors
- B&M transmission cooler
- Z06 3.42 gears
- Borla Stinger catback
- Yank SS3600 stall converter
- Tuned by me with HP Tuners
- Cartek line lock kit
- 275/40/17 Hoosier drag radials on C5 Z06 rims with the tire pressure set to 18psi
Another perspective on the same pass:
Way to represent, West Coast!
